Backstory & Problem

Re-design the old historical building to an environmentally conscious brewery that is locally oriented towards the enhancement of the greater community. One observation from brewery company Good City Brewing, the problem is the area for storing ingredients and tools is quite limited and there are amounts of waste water and spent grain.

The design purpose is to solve the problems and educate the community on the ways in which the brewery is using sustainable methods.

Sustainable methods

What to do with "Spent Grain"?

- Fertilizes fields, gardens and urban greenhouses

- Used as feed for animals

- Growing Power (a national organization) helps provide equal access to healthy foods and hands-on skills in growing them

- Many craft breweries reuse their spent grain in their kitchens
